1. Embouchure

1.1 Definitie Embouchure

Embouchure is the outward combination of lipapertura, facemuscle tense- and force plus lipvibration-suppleness in combination with the right mouthpiece to develop a normal wavelength tone on a brass instrument with the favourable circumstances in embouchure like as the pressure of the pelvisbottom muscles, breathsupport, realizing airvelocity in combination with formation of throat-and mouthcavities included tongueformation,chest resonance, bone-soundconducting, shape of teeth arch and inclination angle of the incisors. - Hans Boschma





Het verschil met de menselijke stem is dat de stembanden als intermediair en trillende sluis werken. Bij koperen blaasinstrumenten komt de geluidsproductie van de lippen en bij houten instrumenten van het riet of de rieten.

Enbouchure richt zich op het inwendige gedeelte, zoals de meeresonerende borst-, keel- en mondholte, en de ‘spoungalike’ holtes in de botten van de schedel, zoals de kaken. Daarnaast zijn talloze inwendig functionerende spieren, stukjes kraakbeen, het gebit en het tongbeen actief.
